Dear University community,
- COVID-19 testing here is now available to all at our on-campus Curative testing booth located in the breezeway between Dr. F. M. Canseco Hall and Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall. Testing is available to the University community and the community at large.
- This Friday and Saturday, we were finally able to celebrate our 2020 graduates and 2021 candidates for graduation in four ceremonies at the Sames Auto Arena. These were our first in-person ceremonies since December 2019 and it was truly a special time. We also recognized Mary Treviño, our University’s first and longest-serving employee (51 years) as she completed her last reading of students’ names for the stage-crossing of participants. TAMIU Students Guide University's Plans for In-Person Commencement Ceremonies
TAMIU’s long-awaited in-person Commencement Ceremonies were held this weekend at the Sames Auto Arena. Some 1,250 students, representing 28 countries participated in four ceremonies.
TAMIU Grant Program Provides Help for Returning Students this Summer, Fall
A $112,500 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s Texas Reskilling Support Fund Grant Program can provide support students returning to complete their degree this Summer or Fall. Students can receive a scholarship to help pay tuition and fees between $500 and $2,500 per semester/term for the Summer and Fall 2021 semesters.

TAMIU’S USTEM Program Offers Students STEM Research Skills, $2,000 Stipend
Starting this Summer, incoming freshmen wishing to get a head start on college-level, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math research skills can apply to be a part of an innovative, $1.65 million U.S. National Science Foundation-funded program and research project.
“The TAMIU USTEM Program offers a rare opportunity to contribute to important science research while a TAMIU student. This is part of a research grant that explores how STEM-focused video projects influence a participant’s psychosocial and STEM persistence outcomes."
