While it doesn't feel like fall, TV's best autumnal offerings are headed to the airwaves. From Netflix's "Stranger Things" to NBC's three-hanky phenomenon "This is Us," here's a look at what you shouldn't miss this season.
After a year of suspense, “Star Trek: Discovery” is finally making its way to the airways. For all those “Trekkies” out there, this prequel to the classic series is sure to become a fan favorite. With cast members such as "The Walking Dead's" Sonequa Martin, Michelle Yeoh and Doug Jones, the show is sure to deliver Emmy-winning performances. With new characters and episodes, who wouldn’t want to join in on the fun?
“Star Trek: Discovery” is set to premiere Sunday, Sept. 24, on CBS.
Since the season one finale of the popular dramedy "This is Us" aired in May, everyone has been eagerly awaiting the answer to their many questions -- most importantly, how family patriarch Jack Pearson died. From what’s been teased, it seems as if the cause of his death may finally be revealed. Plus, the recent sneak peek (featuring Mandy Moore and Sterling K. Brown) gave audiences a clue as to how often they're going to use their tear ducts.
This is Us” will begin its highly anticipated second season Sept. 26 on NBC.
Of all the superhero shows on TV nowadays, “The Flash” takes the No. 1 spot for most buzzed about. The show features characters you know and love from the comics -- but with a twist (think the season two finale, where a trusted character turns out to be more nefarious than thought). After what happened in the season three finale, audience members are intrigued to know how a season four is even possible. Whatever the case, the show is sure to knock our socks off.
Season four of “The Flash” is set to premiere Tuesday, Oct. 10.
The CW’s newest hit show, “Riverdale,” will also make its return this fall. The events of last season -- especially the finale -- gave audiences a clue as to what might happen in the upcoming season. Based on the “Archie” comic books, the show takes an innocent teenager and turns him into a grittier, more mature version of himself. Archie Andrews is now a brooding teenage boy with girl troubles. The new season is sure to be filled with drama, suspense -- and maybe even some action.
Season two of “Riverdale” hits airways on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
Finally, the show everyone -- or at least anyone who doesn’t live under a rock -- is excited for. More than a year ago, "Stranger Things'" first season was released on Netflix, and it was hit. While it took a little bit of time for the show to pick up steam, it is now one of the biggest shows on television. Since the announcement of a second season, people everywhere have been shaking with anticipation. On Friday, Oct. 27, the entire second season of “Stranger Things” will be bingeable.
