Visible Learning for Literacy
A team of Edgewood Administrators and Teachers recently attended an evening of professional development at Fairfield High School. At this training they were exposed to instructional practices that work best to accelerate student learning. Thank you to Pam Theurer, Lori Harrison, Lindsay White, Dave Vernot, Jake White, Evan Daniel, AJ Pierratt, Shawna White, Leslie Robson, and Tonya Best for attending and bringing this valuable training back to your buildings.
Edgewood High School Senior Service Project
Over 120 seniors participated in the first annual Edgewood High School Senior Service Day on April 29. The purpose of this event directly ties to Edgewood’s Strategic Plan. The goal of the Senior Service Day is to engage stakeholders to take action that will promote Edgewood City Schools to parents and the community while connecting with current students, attracting future ones, and successfully engaging staff members.

Edgewood Gifted Book Study
Edgewood Elementary Teacher and Gifted Intervention Specialist, Lindsay Smith facilitated this book study throughout the 2018-2019 school year. Teachers participated in the book study to help give gain a better understanding of the challenges when teaching students who are identified as "gifted". Edgewood High School Summer School
Seven Mile Elementary Wax Museum
Seven Mile second graders were given an assignment to research a historic American figure. They invited parents to attend their Wax Museum and learn about their research. Parents were instructed to push the "information button" on the posters and students would recite facts about the American figure they researched. The parents and staff were very proud to see the students learning in action.
Edgewood Elementary Professional Development
Edgewood Elementary teachers recently participated in a staff led PD. Angie Butts spoke on Social/Emotional learning lessons in the classroom utilizing resources from Hey Sigmund! Jake White, Lindsay Smith, and Lauren Weitzel taught on how to lead a student-centered classroom with great resources like Passion Project, Blendspace, and student choice book groups.
