In the Fall of 2017, BSU technology, art & design students developed design concepts for a tiny house that was built beginning that spring.
The TAD School's tiny house project is a collaborative effort involving students in a broad variety of courses.
Design concepts for the house were produced by students in Josefson's Building Systems course, and the project was coordinated by Applied Project Management students taught by Dave Towley, assistant professor of technology, art & design.
BSU's Sustainability Office was consulted throughout the design process, as well.
Built Environment students constructed the tiny house on campus under the guidance of Dr. Tim Brockman, professor of technology, art & design. Josefson and Mike Mulry, director of corporate relations & strategic partnerships, served as clients for a group of students in Marketing Research and Marketing Management classes taught by Dr. Kelly La Venture, assistant professor of business administration.
Students surveyed BSU alumni to gather feedback on amenities to include in the house and assembled a marketing plan to promote the house and its eventual sale.
The house will be auctioned in conjunction with Bemidji's Annual Dragon Boat Festival on August 3, 2019.
