WHAT IS THE ADMIN CONSOLE?
THE ADMIN CONSOLE IS YOUR ONE-STOP LOCATION TO MANAGE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION ADOBE PRODUCTS, USERS AND LICENSES. YOU'LL ALSO GET ACCESS TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Deployment packages, or evite installs
- Add or remove users, recycle licenses
- Claim your domain for Enterprise or Federated Identity Types
- Setup user groups, admin roles
- Setup policy restrictions, and product profiles
- Access Adobe support, expert sessions
HOW DO I GET THERE?
AFTER YOU'VE PURCHASED YOUR LICENSES WITH YOUR RESELLER, THE PRIMARY ADMIN(S) WILL GET ACCESS TO THE ADMIN CONSOLE VIA EMAIL.
WHAT IS "NAMED-USER LICENSING"?
Your organization maintains a list of users entitled to Adobe software and your users log-in to activate their license. This provides the users access to their Adobe products, desktop apps, mobile apps, cloud services and creative resources with this subscription licensing.
First you'll want to determine which Identity Type is best for your org:
IF USING AN ENTERPRISE OR FEDERATED ID, THESE ARE THE SETUP STEPS:
- Set up directory
- Claim your domain
- Link domain to directory
- (Optional) Allow directory trusting
Product Profiles
FOR A USER TO BE ENTITLED TO USE A PRODUCT OR A SERVICE, THE USER NEEDS TO BE ASSIGNED TO A PRODUCT PROFILE EITHER DIRECTLY AS A USER OR INDIRECTLY AS PART OF A USER GROUP.
ORGANIZATIONS CAN CREATE PRODUCT PROFILES:
- To segregate users based on geography, business unit or department
- To separate responsibility for managing users in a product profile
- To allocate licenses for a particular group
- To enable or disable individual cloud services uniquely for different user groups
SETUP USER GROUPS
USER GROUPS CAN BE USED TO ORGANIZE USERS OR TO ASSIGN USERS TO A PRODUCT VIA A USER GROUP.
CAN I SYNC USERS FROM MY ENTERPRISE DIRECTORY?
Adobe interfaces with your (SSO) identity provider and not directly to your enterprise directory. You can automate provisioning and de-provisioning of users in the Admin Console based on your Enterprise Directory using the User Sync Tool.
WHAT ADMIN CONTROLS DO I HAVE?
YOU CAN USE UP TO 6 DIFFERENT GRANULAR ENTERPRISE ADMIN ROLES TO MANAGE USERS:
HERE ARE EXAMPLES OF HOW ADMIN ROLES CAN BE USED:
- System Admin can control overall environment and have the highest level of access
- Product Admins can be separate for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Document Cloud
- Deployment Admins can access deployment packages only
- Support Admins can assist end-users to open Support Cases and Expert Sessions
NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT DEPLOYMENT...
YOU CAN CREATE AND ACCESS PACKAGES IN THE ADMIN CONSOLE. ADMINS WILL CREATE A PACKAGE AND INSTALL IT ONTO END-USERS' COMPUTERS.
You can also access Adobe Templates, a.k.a. pre-created deployment packages:
SELF-SERVICE DEPLOYMENT
You can allow your creatives to install applications and updates via the Creative Cloud Desktop application. This reduces IT overhead and ensures that your creatives have access to all the tools they need and receive updates as soon as they are released.
WHAT ABOUT ACROBAT-ONLY DEPLOYMENT WITH DOCUMENT CLOUD?
In the Tools page, you can access the Acrobat DC Customization Wizard to customize the end-user installation.
CAN I CONTROL HOW MY USERS SHARE AND COLLABORATE IN THE CLOUD?
Asset Settings give an organization control over how their employees share assets outside the organization. It also gives the organization the ability to restrict public-links from being created by end users for documents stored in their cloud.
Admins can audit or report on what end-users are uploading, downloading and collaborating on in their cloud storage when they are using their Enterprise or Federated IDs.
CAN I MIGRATE ASSETS WHEN MOVING TO ENTERPRISE?
Yes, you sure can! Adobe provides you an automated process to migrate your content from your old Adobe ID account to your new enterprise account so that you can continue working on your content.
WITH ENTERPRISE, YOU'LL HAVE A DEDICATED ONBOARDING CALL WITH OUR ENTERPRISE ONBOARDING TEAM.
You and your end users will also have the following Adobe Support options available 24/7 and in most time zones:
- Call or Chat (for quick questions)
- Open a Case (open/track cases for issue support)
- Request an Expert Session (unlimited 1:1 30 minute session with Adobe experts at the timing of your choosing; select from a list of topics for each product)
