Oregon Gran Fondo Tech Guide Updated 6/2/21

Welcome to the Oregon Gran Fondo!

In an attempt to give you more info without totally overdoing it on the website, this information will describe a few items and go over an FAQ page and more details beyond what is on the site. For most cyclists that have done the event only require a reminder on the start time and date. For those new to cycling or to timed events, this may ease your nerves or simply answer a few questions. Enjoy the pics below as we have a fantastic photographer to capture the moment each year on the first Saturday in June.

All the best for a great year of cycling! We have missed you!

Map

Do not miss Upper Smith River Rd! Mile 17 adventure route and mile 26 Medio and Gran Routes. Right turn off of HWY 38

OGF

Special course notes

Medio

The Medio will get to our mile marker 35 sign, and the following sign will be mile 90 when rejoining the gran route after they depart the gran route at mile 38 and turn Right on Elk over to aid 2

(Elk is bumpy and rough as it climbs to the top and turns into Buck creek for super rough descent to Aid 2) These 6 miles is the bumpiest part of any of the loops.

Mile 45-65 of the Gran is the roughest part of the Gran loop as you socially unplug. The sightlines are reduced, and if a big truck is coming at you, please yield. ALL ROADS ARE OPEN!

OXBOW Summit Gran only!

At mile 75 at the top of the Oxbow summit for the Gran or 93 for the Adventure Route. If you descend and go too fast and or too far left with a car coming up or to far right, you will die! Simple as that!

I mean, maybe you won't die, so let's stay in control and not find out.

Mile 87 Gran and Mile 100 is the Wolf Creek and Siuslaw River Rd corner. The Route stays right and is on Siuslaw River rd and do not take Wolf Creek.

After the event

Ride back and pick up a top 3 age group award and the day is yours to enjoy with your friends. Normally we would be hosting a bigger party, but not quite in 2021. With so many breweries, wineries and places to visit, simply enjoy the area.

Food Vouchers

We have four local restaurants accepting vouchers! Please check LINK

Special Note

Mini-Gravel

The Mini-Gravel 25 miler is not timed and an excellent way to get introduced to gravel and the off-the-beaten-path. Water at the finish only for this event. Please start at the back of the 8:30 mass start and take that left-hand turn at mile 1 on Gowdyville rd. Yes, E-bikes are allowed on this route only. All other routes are strictly prohibited
