WELCOME back TO BELGRADE Theatre

We are second year BSc Occupational Therapy (OT) students at Coventry University, who were fortunate to gain a contemporary placement at the Belgrade Theatre where we have spent the past 10 weeks. Following discussions with Underground Lights and The Belgrade we developed a web page providing facts and figures about Covid, the safety measures the Belgrade has in place and guidance on mindfulness and anxiety coping strategies, to inform and educate people on how safe it is to return to the Belgrade and to empower them in overcoming any anxiety.

This page also invites members of the public to attend the Fusion 21 event at the Belgrade on Sunday 15 August where we will be offering short mindfulness sessions and producing a community legacy art piece in the Belgrade foyer. There are invitations for people to create and add leaves to our Cofa’s Tree art installation, through use of mindfulness colouring and journaling and sharing hopes and aspirations as we venture out of lockdown and re-enter society and events.

Now that the restrictions have been lifted we want to welcome you back to the Belgrade and invite you to join in with the creative exhibition. We have got some facts and figures to make you feel safe and know that the Belgrade has got your best interests at heart. we are going to give you some ideas on how to cope when you're feeling overwhelmed and we would love to invite you to some mindfulness workshops at the Belgrade on the 15th of August,2021. We would love to see you there!.

🍃What is COFA'S Tree of Life🍂

Legend states that a traveller called Cofa laid claim to the land of the city where we live by planting his tree - as was common practice in Saxon times. Hence the name Cofa's Tree - believed to be the origin of our City's name.

We invite you to be a part of our Cofa's Tree display by creating a leaf using any creative medium you choose...

Covid Facts

There is a one in 45,000 chance of getting COVID if you have not been vaccinated

There is a one in 100,000 chance of getting COVID if you have had one dose of a vaccine

There is a one in 150,000 chance of getting COVID if you have had two doses of a vaccine

So if you look at the pictures on the side being fully vaccinated means that if you meet someone who is fully vaccinated in a crowded place, there is a 1 in 150,000 chance of 1 person getting covid and being hospitalised.

It is also like meeting everyone in 150 full Belgrade's at least once. So we can see that being double vaccinated helps reduce the chance of you getting covid.

We have included some websites with information on COVID and the vaccine. Also a website that gives a weekly summary of covid and what is changing.

The facts provided here are true as of 22/7/2021 please make sure please make sure to keep checking to see if there are any more changes.

Facts about face masks

Why use a face covering?

Evidence suggests transmission predominantly happens indoors where people are close together.

Face coverings worn over the nose and mouth reduce the spread of coronavirus droplets from coughs, sneezes and speaking.

The main purpose is to protect others from Covid, rather than yourself. If everyone wears one, the risks drop for all.

Masks can also help reduce virus spread from contagious people with no symptoms.

Cutting virus transmission is important because many people are still not yet fully vaccinated.
