Transport in my village Nihad Mamedov, Sema Gasanova, Aziz Ganiyev

  • The people from villages of Marneuli are using either taxi or train as a means of transportation. Do you know why? Because those villagers are deprived of public transport and there are only private busses available for their movement. These busses work only once a day for two hours.
The schedule sometimes doesn’t match with the needs of the people. Therefore, they usually take a taxi for 20-30 GEL or leave homes 5 or 6 hours earlier to arrive to the place on time.
It takes 3 hours from the village Ashagi Sarali to Tbilisi by train. Ali gets up early in the moring, about 4 am in order to catch the train.
The marked areas are the villages that survive from the transport problem.
  • You see on the map the schedule for Marneuli-Gasimli transport. A is for Marneuli, B is for Baytalli and C if for Gasimli. The villagers of Baytalli are suffering from the bad transport system as well. They have to walk two kilometers to catch a bus. You might be thinking why the villagers walk such a distance to get on a bus? This is because the drivers of the bus that has to take the passengers to the center of Baytalli, can give an excuse for deconstructed roads and not take the passengers to the center.
  • Ali Ganiev is the resident of Asagi Sarali, the village of Marneuli municipality. He says that he has been affected by the transport problem for the past seven years. He studies at Madrasa in the town of Ponichala. Despite his classes start at 10 or 11 a.m., he has to wake up at 5 a.m. to catch a train. Afterwards he has to wait for 2 to 3 hours for his classes.
