Welcome to CITI

University Program Specialist

Ms. Lelia O’Neal is the new University Program Specialist for CITI. She is a 16-year employee of WSSU, previously working in the TEAP Center for nine years before transitioning to the UCaLL Department, working with the ASA/Writing Department. Ms. O’Neal is very energetic, enjoys helping people, event planning, and exercise. She is an alumna of WSSU, having obtained a degree in Business Administration.

Online Orientation Courses

The WSSU [Faculty] Online Orientation course is a valuable resource to help faculty acclimate to teaching an online course. The course includes five modules: Preparing to Teach Online, Delivering Instruction in the Online Classroom, Assessing Learning, and Supporting Student Learning.

The WSSU [Student] Orientation Course is a resource to orient and helps prepare students for the expectations and the discipline required to complete an online course successfully. The course includes five modules: Getting Started with Online Learning, Overview of Canvas, Navigating Canvas, Time Management: Fitting Online Education into Your Life, and What’s Next? Resources for Online Learners.

Note: To access the student course, please sign into Canvas. Select 'Commons' and enter WSSU Student Online Orientation in the search field.

This Fall, CITI will be hosting an Adobe Instructor Course Support program in which 25 faculty will develop digital tools using Adobe Creative Cloud to engage students. This project is sponsored by Adobe and the Creative Cloud. Currently, WSSU is the only HBCU with Adobe Creative Campus designation.

Book of the Month

In this practical, easy-to-use guide, Dr. Michelle Pacansky-Brock offers educators an ample yet manageable collection of proven emerging technologies that can be leveraged for generating content, enhancing communications with and between students, and cultivating participatory, student-centered learning activities. If you desire to refresh or transform your instruction, Best Practices for Teaching with Emerging Technologies is a great resource to add to your library.
