Night of Percussion Indoor Percussion

The Night of Percussion is specifically where the members of percussion get to perform their pieces for friends and family members without the rest of the band. Their performances were unique because they were prepared for this night as opposed to being a part of their larger performances with the rest of the band.

Abbey Bush '19 and Victor Schneiders '20 practice sheet music before their performance.

The show is an opportunity for the percussionists from the middle school and the high school to showcase the transitions in each grade level and listen to all the different skill levels. Additionally, it gives the middle school percussionists a glimpse of what is to come once they reach high school.

"I like to see the younger people play because they are looking to become what [high schoolers] are. [...]. It is just nice to see what you are aspiring to become and others who are aspiring to become what you are," Carter Dills '20 said.

Grant Caperton '20 and other percussionists adjust the instruments before the performance starts.
Colin Herron '20 follows the sheet music through the performance.

Center Grove percussionists look forward to this night as an opportunity to display their talents as a unit to their family members and friends. This performance is unlike any of the other performances where they are competing against other schools. Senior Sam Bauer said, "It is the only time we can have a percussion ensemble that is not judged and does not require some sort of marching."
