About Us
Digital Black was formed officially in November of 2017 by Kassandra Smith (Catey). Work created predates the conception of Digital Black. Web Design work first started when Kassandra was 12 years old when she created her Tomb Raider Fan Site. It does still exist as major cringe on Angelfire.
Photo Editing/Graphic Design work started about 7 years ago when the owner joined the online rolplaying/fan fiction community. As the community grew, the need for graphics, images, and code for web pages went up. Since most of the writing was done on forums or Myspace, the coding was merely HTML and CSS. Kassandra soon moved on to creating web sites and more.
Video Editing started at a young age, about 16. Her father, Charles Smith, always made home movies using cassette, 8 mm, and VHS tapes in the 90's. Kassandra got her first new computer, MacBook Pro, when she turned 16. Then she used iMovie to create family music videos and other videos for school projects. Now she uses Adobe Premiere Pro to create videos for DJ events. Oh did we mention she DJ's too? Under the name Mary X.

Photo Editing
Kassandra combined her love of photo editing and her favorite movie franchise (Star Wars) into her creative writing pursuits online. Very similar to D&D {Dungeons & Dragons), she created original characters and would use celebrity faces as their playby, as it was called in the community. From there she would write stories with individuals or with groups that were within the universe she created her character within.
