Joyner Library (Main Campus)
Joyner Library is a great place to study in-between classes, during late nights, and especially during finals season. There are 3 different floors to study on based on the kind of study environment prefer. If you want somewhere louder where you can do group work or chat with friends the 1st floor is for you! If you don’t want complete silence but need to focus a little more, try the 2nd floor. Finally, the 3rd floor offers complete silence to get whatever work you need to be done with no distractions. Throughout all of the floors, there are desks, booths, and cubicles; along with that, you have the option of renting small or group study rooms for free on their website. There is also a Starbucks on the first floor!
Laupus Library (Health Science Campus)
- Laupus Library has many of the same benefits as Joyner and is a great place for students who need a place to get their work done. It is four floors with available study spaces and services located throughout, they also offer free room reservations to students!
The Mall
- If you need a change of scenery, try bringing a blanket or a hammock out to the mall and study outside for a while. Studying outside actually has a ton of benefits including lowered stress levels, increased focus, and more!

Main Campus Student Center
- MCSC is a great place if you’re looking to get a quick bite to eat while you study. There are six dining options, including Starbucks, Panda Express, Raising Canes, and more! This is also where the Dowdy Student Store is located, which very convenient if you need to grab some school supplies or a scantron on your way out. There are tables, multiple lounges, study rooms, and even a gaming center if you need a quick break from studying. A fun fact about MCSC is that the windows are actually View Smart Windows which have been proven to have many benefits on learning, creativity, and performance.
Health Science Campus Student Center
HSCSC is very similar to the MCSC! They have multiple dining options including Starbucks, Greens to Go, and Local Eats which features different restaurants around Greenville, check out the schedule on their website to see what local option is available that day! There is also a Dowdy Student Store located in the building along with many other services available for students.
Wright Place
- Wright Place is located in the middle of Main Campus, very conveniently located to stop by in between classes. There are multiple restaurants located here including Starbucks, Einstein’s Bagels, Mama Joyce’s Pizza, and Burger Studio. You can sit either inside or outside at one of their many tables.
The Galley
- The Galley is located on College Hill, by Jones Residence Hall, and has many perks for students! There is great indoor and outdoor seating, a coffee bar, a convenience store, and a few restaurants all located inside.

Coastal Fog
- Coastal Fog is located in Uptown Greenville. It has a great menu packed full of different breakfast, lunch, and beverage options. The interior is beautifully decorated throughout the market as well as the shop which provides a great studying ambiance! Also, if you need a quick study break, you can check out their store.
Starbucks
- There are several Starbucks locations all over Greenville. One of the locations is on 10th street close to the student center, and there is another one located inside the Barnes & Noble near Target. Starbucks is a great place to get a coffee and stay focused on your studies.
Blackbeard Coffee Roasters
- Blackbeard Coffee is located in Uptown Greenville. They have a great selection of coffee and bakery items. Blackbeard Coffee also has indoor and outdoor seating selections.
Panera Bread
- Panera Bread is a bakery-café fast-casual restaurant located across from the Greenville shopping mall. They have a wide selection of food, drinks, and sweet treats. They have tables inside and outside and a great environment to study in.
Other
Sheppard Memorial Library
- Sheppard Memorial Library is the local Greenville library. It’s a great alternative to the on-campus libraries if you need a quick change of scenery. It is conveniently located in Uptown Greenville.
Town common park
- Town common park is located on the Tar River. It’s a great outdoor study option and a fresh change of scenery. Also, so many great benefits come with studying outside!
If you live in an apartment off-campus or in a dorm, check to see if they have study rooms to rent!
