Science Teachers & Industry Learning about chemicals and the environment - JULY 15-18, 2019

This four-day workshop from July 15-18, 2019 helps provide science teachers in grades 5 and up with a more informed view of how chemicals are manufactured, and a more balanced view of environmental issues in Texas.

This workshop addresses the chemical industry’s concern for, and impact upon the health and safety of its workers, neighboring communities, and the environment. Academic, governmental, and industry experts present a full scope of environmental viewpoints

All teachers receive items made from materials manufactured in the Houston area.
Learn from industry experts about careers at all levels.

During the four-day program, teachers participate in a broad spectrum of instructional exercises, learn about career opportunities for students, become part of a panel discussion, and tour various chemical plants and industrial waste disposal sites on facility field trips.

Teachers completing all four days of the workshop will receive a $300 stipend, courtesy of the Texas Chemical Council. Teachers also receive 30 CPE hours and 6 G/T update hours. Want to join us in 2019?
