Building a website might as well be another language for most of us starting out. I mean, after all, you do have to learn how to code with HTML and CSS, which is basically a language in its own right! There is a lot of information to take in and if you are not careful enough, it can lead to an information overload that stops you in your tracks. However, if you just start by taking baby steps and learning a bit at a time, everything should turn out okay.

When I first started with HTML, it was my last semester of college in a Web Design class. “This will be a fun class that I can use later on” I thought going into the class, not really knowing what I was getting myself into. After all, how hard can it be? Let’s just say, don’t miss a class... The first day we just jumped into it! The instructor showed us how to do basic code while we followed along but if you weren’t paying attention, you got left behind! Luckily for me, I had some friends close by to show me how to write HTML fairly easily if I did fall behind with utter confusion.
After doing a couple of assignments for the class, coding became easier to understand and I started to make some great strides! Of course, looking at helpful coding websites such as “tympanum.net/codrops” was incredibly helpful in learning new techniques outside the class. Web design turned into a grand journey that I was willing and exited to take!
Fast forward to now, I am still learning new things and I would still consider myself a beginner but I have certainly come a long way from that Web Design Class in college! I have discovered many softwares to help me with learning new techniques, some of which does not need coding at all!
As I progress, I plan on making my website a lot better and more interactive at my own pace! It should be a place for people to explore in wonder and awe without having the need to feel stressed or annoyed to find the information they want to see! I look forward to the future and the potential that it holds for me and my work!
