Pollensa.... Day.....ehhhh....3???
Monday....I think.....but who cares! And today I got to go on a trip.....a proper trip....on a bus.....but more of that in a bit!!
But...more importantly......there comes a time when everyone has to admit to their frailties....although some take longer to give in than others! One of them had to admit to getting older and having slightly thinner hair than of past....although it is more because it is shorter according to him....and one has to get a.....

But....he does look cool!
Anyway....the sun was up early today and so were they! They managed to get up early and do their long walk BEFORE breakfast.....and they noticed that their 'friends' who are along the road from them were still in bed.....or had headed out really early on a trip somewhere!
They had been up late last night as it was firework night as part of the Pollensa Featival. However the fireworks didn't start till midnight so it was a late night again!

So....the walk helped to build up an appetite for a hearty breakfast again on the dining room balcony which is as good a place to eat breakfast as anywhere!

Today's plan was to head to 'Old Pollensa' which is 6 or 7 Km's inland from the old port. Public transport is great.....€1.50 each for a single.....and at home that might get you about one stop on the bus! A day trip to Pollensa is really the highlight of the trip. Pollensa is an old town that is quite small and the original central area is so picturesque and lovely that it is a magnet to visitors!
Old Pollensa Town is a diamond in the hills.....a place that it's original inhabitants had no idea people would flock to see two or three hundred years later!

There are a maze of narrow, windy streets and lanes with a variety of little shops, boutiques and shops that sell HATS as well as many delightful cafes! They spent a while wandering round the streets looking in all the little shops and of course it wasn't long before one was saying....."Oh....I like this....and this....and this.....and look at this!!"

The church, called 'Our Lady of the Angels' Parish (Pollensa)' was stunning inside. A haven for those looking for a chance to get out of the heat or to sit in quiet contemplation or to pray. The leaflet says....."It is the biggest church from all churches in Pollensa (area) and is the most finely sumptuous place in the village." It was build between 1714-1790 and was a work of art.

There were surprisingly few people there and it is a shame that many people will visit Pollensa and not realise it is there. The roof frescos alone made the visit worthwhile!

So after a few minutes of quiet and whispers they headed out into the bright sunshine once again to go to the square to find a cafe and to have a drink before heading up the 365 steps to the Church at the top of Calvari! This is why most people visit Pollensa.....to climb the 365 steps to the church at the top of the hill...obviously in an attempt to take it closer to God!

The square was busy and the cafes were doing a roaring trade....and I enjoyed. Coke and a latte macchiato!!

So after our reviving drink it was time for the off. They always seem to end up their in the middle of the day....when the sun is high....and they have to make it up that HILL!

So off they went.....and to be fair they did well....and in no time were at the summit! The views are great but there had been NO signs at the bottom stating that the church was closed for renovations ......unless it was a small sign....in Spannish.....and they didn't want to put people off their bit of exercise! But serious.y...the views are stunning, not only of the village but the surrounding area!

So....the little cafe was open....it should be called 'The Revival Cafe' and after a bottle of water and an ice cream each they were set for the descent! Just to prove I made it......despite my short legs......here is the proof!

Once down they looked round the shops again and got that HAT...and then they headed off to get the bus back again to Puerto Pollensa! The bus was busy.....but they made it on and soon they were back in the hotel.....having coffee, water melon.....oh....and some chocolate! I didn't see any of that!!
They will head off for their 'second' walk later on to try and get their step count to over the 20000 mark for the day!
I will be surprised if they don't make it back there before the end of the week!!
So...they went off for dinner again....and ice cream......AGAIN....and I was left behind......AGAIN! Now I know why people say it wouldn't be fair to get a puppy.....being left alone at home a lot.....on their own! However, I am a resourceful bear....and I have mastered the TV remote......some very odd stations.....but Sky News is on! But how much of the Republican Party Congress can one bear take. Someone needs to get that Trump guy sorted out.....his hair is worse than my fur! But....he's punching above his weight with his wife.......is he rich or something?

Tomorrow.....I'm going to master the mobile phone in the safe......and I can book some take out food and perhaps some company!!
Anyway.....that's me off before they get back in! Good night!
