ON 2 JULY 2021, JOIN US IN CELEBRATING THREE YEARS OF THE PAN-AFRICAN ZERO MALARIA STARTS WITH ME MOVEMENT WITH THE THEME ‘ZERO MALARIA STARTS WITH SMART INVESTMENTS’
Zero Malaria Starts with Me is a movement that empowers communities to take ownership of malaria efforts and hold leaders accountable in the fight against malaria.
Since the launch of the ‘Zero Malaria Starts with Me’ movement by the African Union Commission and the RBM Partnership to End Malaria in July 2018, over 20 countries across the continent have stepped up their efforts to mobilize resources from all sectors in support of malaria control and elimination. Several countries have established national End Malaria Councils and Funds to catalyse investments and others have launched initiatives to engage the private sector, such as the Zero Malaria Business Leadership Initiative, spearheaded by Ecobank Group and Speak Up Africa.
On Friday 2 July we will celebrate three years since the African Union leaders officially endorsed Zero Malaria Starts with Me as a continent-wide campaign.

There is a $3.7 billion funding gap that urgently needs to be addressed to #endmalaria. 🦟 Through the #ZeroMalariaStartswithMe movement, we call for an increase in the prioritization of funding for #malaria, a disease that still kills 400,000 people each year.
