Miawoe zɔ! (Welcome in Ewe)
This summer I had the opportunity to travel to Anloga, Ghana. Located on the Eastern Coast, Anloga is filled with immense amounts of culture, traditions and amazing people. I traveled with a program called GlobaI Leadership Adventures and got to see part of the world that now means so much to me. On my trip, a group of sixteen high school students from all of the United States had the opportunity to teach in a classroom at two of the local schools. I was able to learn so much from my students, and form friendships that will last forever. Part of my trip was focused on a fellowship program that GLA offers. I got the chance to photograph some of my new magnificent friends, and I am so grateful for their help. This project would not have turned out the way it did if it wasn't for them. Furthermore, the GLA program was centered around becoming a better leader and learning how we can take our experiences abroad home with us. I wanted to dedicate my project to the beautiful, young minds that I was lucky enough to connect with over the three week period. I learned and gained so much from my experience in Ghana. I hope that these pictures give a glimpse into what my world was filled with, complete joy and happiness.
