Birds on Beacon St. Learning about our local feathered friends

Thanks to a generous grant from the Stockbridge Audubon Society, Beacon Heights kids had the opportunity to learn all kinds of feathered facts with some fun, hands-on activities!

We painted birdhouses and learned about the importance of providing homes for local birds....
We made bird feeders in hopes of attracting feathered friends and learned about the benefits of bird feeding....
We tried out different “bird beaks”...
We made “seed bombs”to grow native plants birds love....
We tried weaving like a weaver bird and learned about different nest styles....
Every family went home with their very own birding book... perfect for these budding ornithologists!

Thanks very much to Stockbridge Audubon Society for making this event possible and continuing the education of our smallest bird enthusiasts!
