Public spaces in Palo Alto reopen The Paly Voice

Greer Park

Greer Park is much emptier than before, as the big grass fields are mostly untouched. People here generally seem to be obeying social distancing guidelines and keeping six feet of distance between them.

Around the park, there are a few families relaxing on the grass, kids biking on the paths surrounding the playground, or people just taking a walk, sometimes with their dogs. A family plays baseball on the field.

Mitchell Park

Mitchell Park seems to be the most popular park by number of people. People here generally seem to be obeying social distancing guidelines and keeping six feet of distance between them.

Many people are jogging and walking around the park, in addition to lounging in the grass. Children are playing soccer in the shade. Despite the fact that picnic and barbecue areas are closed to the public, people are utilizing those areas.

At Mitchell Park, the pickleball and tennis courts are half full as people exercise together, following social distancing guidelines.

Hoover Park

Hoover Park is a hotspot for older students. Some people here do not seem to be obeying social distancing guidelines and keeping six feet of distance between them.

A group of kids play football in the grass while others play tennis against the wall, as the tennis courts in Hoover Park are completely full.

There are many groups of young adults sitting and chatting in the grass. There are a few dog-walkers and bikers, but not many people walking.

Rinconada Park

Rinconada Park's open space is not as popular. People here generally seem to be obeying social distancing guidelines and keeping six feet of distance between them.

There are only a few families sitting in the grass or on benches and walking their dogs.

Most of the tennis courts here and on the other side of the street are full of families playing tennis together.

The few groups of people here are sparsely scattered across the park. People here generally seem to be obeying social distancing guidelines and keeping six feet of distance between them.

Many children and adults bike around the park on the paths. A few younger kids scooter around the edges of the park.
