After putting behind the inevitable marathon flight from Melbourne to Rome and then a domestic flight to Brindisi, there wasn’t much to report on for our first “official” day in Italy!
After a great night’s rest in our B&B in Lecce and an enjoyable breakfast that included a freshly baked pastry that rivals our delicious “Snot Blocks” back home, it was time to spend the next 10hrs exploring the Adriatic coastal route with our guide Fabio Leo!
With blue skies and temperatures in the high 20’s it was a perfect day to take in the panoramic sites along the coastal route along with our very passionate Italian guide complete with an American accent when conversing in English thanks to his 3 years studying abroad.
The most notable event was witnessing Jenny partaking and enjoying a fresh as you can get, seafood lunch (we were even offered a fishing trip that evening by the owner!)
Enough! I’ll let the photos do the talking!
