Have a closer look. These two bows are not equal, neither are public music education opportunities. Access is not equal. Working together StringWizards is an advocate for change. Join me; and when someone asks, "What did you do in high school?". You will have a answer, and a portfolio, like few others.
I went to St. Ignatius, where I learned about service to others.
I'm a retired pilot. That's me in the front window.
After retirement, I taught some kids in tuition-free orchestra,
but I soon found that they needed my repair skills more. That's me wiring an airplane I built.
The folks who run these schools are amazing.
...but the program depends on donated violins that can be pretty worn out.
So I picked up some glue and sandpaper and got to work,
....so that kids like this, can have a violin that look as good as he does in his tux
Kids so kids what to look for.
It was a delight in the middle schools, but the need was too importan and my output too little.
In the spring of 2018, I relocated to St. Ignatius College Prep. Look for us in the basement. Students learn small business practice, and business writing to music arts foundations, to bring attention to themselves and the need they serve.
