(Rule of Thirds) By glancing at this photo all I see is laughter all around, every person shown in the photo has a smile plastered on their face. This distracts from the fact that my aunt Audrey has just completely demolished my step dad Tim's gingerbread motor home. As a viewer I want you to look at this and also smile, feel as if you where their.
(Contrast) For most of these photos I was walking around my neighborhood. One house in particular caught my eye and I spent about 45 minutes there. The yard was covered in yellow leaves and had like 7 dead trees planted, it was beautiful to look at. Seeing all these yellow leaves all over the floor sparked some good photos but just a glance up and seeing this single leave stuck in this dead tree sprung onto the right side of my brain. I was you to see this photo in a more open way, this bright and colorful leave isn't what it seems, its caught in the dead, darkened tree.
(Up Close) I took this photo in the highest light of the day. This is my favorite book and the crown I won when I got Homecoming Queen. These two things make me smile. I want the viewer to also smile and feel my pride.
(Symmetry) While walking I saw these two small chairs in quite bright colors. I felt very intrigued, mainly because there are two stones placed in front of them. (Didn't read them because I didn't want to trespass) Right when I saw these chairs I saw symmetry, but I also thought of fraternal twins in a sense, these chairs match perfect besides color.
(Contrast) There are many American flags around my neighborhood, but this was my favorite to photograph. This flag is torn, worn and see through, it is seen to be quite old but it still flies in the wind just as well as the others. This brought me a sense of confidence, I love the transparency, seeing the tree in the background. Even though the tree is almost transparent it still pops!
(Diagonals) While walking around Salida I noticed that my neighbor had their lights on in the middle of the day. That is kinda odd so I snapped some pics. This photo calms me and makes me feel at peace, I want viewers to feel the same.
(Framing) I got a little creative with this photo. I knew I wanted to capture the angle piece in my front yard but it was boring on its own. I grabbed a toilet paper roll and shot through it to get some pretty cool pics. This picture is kinda intriguing to me.
(Rule OF Thirds) This is my dog, Gemma. She is one of the only pets I have had and she is a big part of the family. When someone looks at my photo I want them to feel her power and grace. I was mainly focusing on my dog the whole time I was taking photos that day. I was laying on the floor as another dog passed and she made this powerful expression.
(Up Close) Being able to get this close to someone shows trust. Trust is a big thing in all relationships, when I see this photo I feel the trust that I share with this individual, Andrew. I hope the viewer can feel our trust.
(Leading Lines) I took this in down town Modesto. I had went to the movies but gotten there early so I told my boyfriend, Andrew that I Wanted to walk around and get some lively pics. I saw this painting and automatically saw leading lines. I want the viewer to feel patriotic and amazed while seeing this.
