FROM THE PRINICPAL
Dear families,
On behalf of our staff, I would like to thank our wonderful families for assisting us to deliver @Home Learning. It was so encouraging to see that nearly all of our students participated in the program over the last two days. I am so proud of the amazing efforts of our staff to move to an online learning delivery so smoothly within such a short timeframe.
We know that the task of juggling your own work, caring for younger siblings, and assisting with your children’s @Home Learning presents a challenge during this time of lockdown. Please know that we are praying for all our families, and let us know if you require any assistance.
We hope you enjoy our special lockdown edition of the Chronicle.

LEARNING @HOME
This mini issue of the Chronicle is dedicated to our Learning @Home to help us feel connected during this time apart. We have loved seeing your smiling faces through our screens during the SA lockdown. Thank you to those students, families and teachers who have sent through photos and videos of learning and teaching at home.

LEARNING @Home ACTIVITIES
Miss Carter shared this activity that her Year 2 class from Morphett Vale are doing while learning at home. For their UbD topic of 'Mixtures' in Science, they asked these Essential Questions:
What is a mixture? What mixtures can you find in your house?"
They learnt that chefs make mixtures by mixing ingredients in different ways to make tasty combinations and interesting textures. The students asked if they could help their parents make dinner then recorded their observations of the mixtures in their notebooks.
Mrs Dunn's Year 2 class from Aldinga was asked to choose something they have a lot of e.g. Lego bricks, toy cars, railway tracks, beads, and then use that item to design a piece of art. They came up with some very creative results:

Creativity @Home
The Arts teachers have been coming up with creative ways for the students to continue their learning at home. Taking and sharing photos of their Fashion Design, Visual Art and 3D Animation designs and artworks have been a great way to not only show their learning, but to also help connect the students.
Ms Parker's Year 6 Art students from Aldinga created self portraits with text inspired by artist Nate Williams. They asked the Essential Question:
How can artists depict their identity in their artworks?"
The Year 8 Art students continued their learning about the Elements of Art by investigating colour. They created a 'Colour Wheel at Home' using items they could find around their houses to create a colour wheel with Primary and Secondary colours.
Ms Parker's Year 10 3D Animation students created digital landscape designs using Adobe Photoshop.
