Advanced Placement

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program is a program in the United States and Canada created by the College Board which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities may grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores on the examinations. The AP curriculum for each of the various subjects is created for the College Board by a panel of experts and college-level educators in that field of study.

WHY Dual Enrollment?

Dual Enrollment is a program in which eligible high school students can take college courses for credit while in high school.

-100% of tuition is paid for all students

-100% of tuition, books and fees are paid for students who receive free or reduced price meals.

Benefits of Dual Enrollment

-Allows students to earn college credit upon successful completion of course.

-May lower the overall cost for college

-Helps develop college-level academic skills

- Dual enrollment students have higher high school graduation, college matriculation and college completion rates than non dual enrollment students (cite)

-empowers student self-advocacy by navigating college culture

-Over 85% of courses are passed with a grade of C or higher

WhY International Baccalaureate?

Globally recognized two-year academically rigorous, college preparatory programme with an interdisciplinary, constructivist approach to education. Upon successful completion of the IB Diploma Programme, students gain several opportunities including possible college credits, honors college access, and two diplomas. The IB program empowers students to become active agents and advocates of our shared global community.

Benefits of the International Baccalaureate Program

-College credits for possible passing of the individual courses;

-IB Diploma can equate to 30 credit hours for some universities or entrance into the honors college/program; -Completing the CAS experiences assist students with college essays, application, and scholarship opportunities;

-IB students have statistically been admitted to colleges at a higher rate than other students

-IB students statistically have higher retention rates while in college
