The 2016 Calder Cup Champion Cleveland Monsters will be playing host to The Rockford Icehogs. The last time these two teams met was in the postseason, earlier this year on their journey to the championship.

Returning Captain Ryan Craig has confidence in the team under the new coach, John Madden who has been on Stanley Cup teams as well as part of the Monsters organization and knows the team and their strengths as well as their weakness. Craig says the combination of the youth, speed and strength has the team prepared for opening night.
