Make Your Mark: Step by Step Guide

Supplies

  • Solid color sheet of paper
  • 1 meaningful object
  • Preferred decorations
  • Scissors (optional)
  • Glue or tape (optional)

Step 1:

Please select a piece of paper to use as your background. This paper can be any color you choose, however please use a solid color.

Step 2:

Choose an object that resonates with you. This object should be a symbol that relates to your life, such as a photo, poem, card, quote, or drawing. This can come from a magazine, a book, or even your own home. Once you’ve selected your object, glue it down, tape it, or simply place it on the paper.

Step 3:

Write a short description about the object, and any connection or meaning it has in your life. The writing can be written in any language you would like.

Step 4:

Decorate your page!! We really encourage you to have fun with this. Add flowers, fabric, pictures from magazines, or anything else you'd like.

Thank you for Making Your Mark with us, here at the Asian American Resource Center! Don't forget to take a photo of your finished scrapbook page and email it to aarc@austintexas.gov.

Send to us by June 1st, 2020 to be included in the online digital scrapbook!

We'd love to hear your feedback!
