ST. LAWRENCE FOOTBALL GAMEDAY TRADITIONS
Before entering Leckonby Staduim, the Saints touch Luca's Rock. Luca's Rock pays tribute to Ronald J. "Luca" Pelligra '76 (1954-2013). The Rock reads:
"Ron was one of the greatest football and wrestling All-Americans at St. Lawrence. He brought leadership, intelligence, strength, and a will to succeed as well as anyone in SLU history. His enormous legacy will live on forever." Dedicated June 4th, 2016
St. Lawrence is one of 86 colleges in the country to have a golf course on campus. The Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 layout.
Herring-Cole is a staple of St. Lawrence University’s history. Built in 1869, it is the University’s second oldest building and the first library on campus. In 1974, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The smell of the wood on the inside, along with the warm radiators humming throughout the year, makes it one of the most comfortable study areas.
Johnson Hall of Science, opened in 2007, is one of the reasons St. Lawrence's Science Lab Facilities are ranked 14th nationally by the Princeton Review.
Richardson Hall was completed just prior to the opening of St. Lawrence in 1856. It is the oldest building on campus; and houses the English and Religious Studies departments.
Hepburn houses the Government and Economics departments. Student lounges are available in both departments for seminars and informal meetings with faculty, and the building's auditorium is used for guest lectures, films and other presentations.
Kirk Douglas Hall is one of 12 residential halls at St. Lawrence University. The building, which was completed in 2014, honors Kirk Douglas, class of '39.
