Dr. Jamie Perry, Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, was awarded the ECU Five-Year Achievement for Research and Creative Activity Award. Her research, funded by the National Institutes of Health, has allowed her and her team to establish one of the largest MRI databases available to study the velopharyngeal anatomy of children. Her peers across the country recognize her as one of the leading experts in the field of velopharyngeal anatomy.
Dr. Zeng, Professor and Chair in the Department of Health Services and Information Management (HSIM), was awarded a grant for over $400,000. Dr. Zeng’s project will create an information infrastructure to support data sharing, data aggregation, and data visualization that can be used for decision making and create a strategic action plan to systematically address the substance misuses in the community. HSIM faculty Drs. Hylock and Kapoor, along with the Chair of the Department of Addiction and Rehabilitation Studies, Dr. Toriello, will all contribute to Dr. Zeng’s project.
