Denise Stiles was selected as the first “Employee Representative” on the Retirement Review Board. The Retirement Review Board voted in December 2019 to add another seat to the Board which would be filled by a current/active employee. Denise will fill this position on the Board for a 5-year term and will be the voice of the employees.

The Planning and Zoning Department hosted the 27th Annual Arbor Day Celebration on Friday, February 21, at Legion Field. The City was honored with a "Tree City USA Award" and Mayor Steve Horton read a proclamation for Arbor Day 2020. Thank you to everyone who attended and assisted in this event including Newton County Theme School's Principal Student Advisory Committee who helped plant two trees at Legion Field.
