UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.— The Nittany Lions earned their 11th straight home win with a 73-71 comeback victory against Alabama Dec. 14. Penn State trailed by six at the half, but responded with a strong defensive effort in the final 20 minutes to earn the win.
Seniors Lamar Stevens (right) keyed the comeback with 18 points, 13 in the second half, as well as 11 rebounds and six assists. Curtis Jones Jr. also scored 18 points, while Myreon Jones added 17.
HEAD COACH PATRICK CHAMBERS
- Head Coach Patrick Chambers is in his ninth season leading the Nittany Lions and now has 136 wins at Penn State, fifth on the program’s all-time list.
- Chambers players have earned 29 Big Ten Conference honors, the most under any Penn State coach.
- Chambers has 15 wins over Associated Press-ranked opponents, most of any Nittany Lion basketball coach.
- The Philadelphia native previously spent two seasons as head coach at Boston University, guiding the Terriers to their first NCAA Tournament berth in nine years in 2010-11.
- Chambers was also associate head coach of a Villanova team that reached the 2009 Final Four.

- Head coach Donyell Marshall is now in his fourth season at Central Connecticut State, leading the Blue Devils to the NEC Tournament for the first time in four seasons in 2017-18. Marshall was previously an assistant at Buffalo and Rider, and enjoyed a 15-years NBA playing career.

Graduate Guard
- Jones has been a key reserve for the Nittany Lions, averaging 8.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, as well as totalling 14 assists.
- Posted a season-high 18 points against Alabama while shooting 3-for-6 from 3-point range. He has scored in double figures in three games.
- Jones averaged 8.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per outing for Oklahoma State last season.

The Bryce Jordan Center, one of the premier collegiate basketball facilities in the nation, is the home of the Penn State Nittany Lions. Located on Curtin Road adjacent to Beaver Stadium, the spacious arena has a seating capacity of 15,261 for basketball and 16,000-plus for other events. The Jordan Center has a variety of uses, including athletic competitions, commencements and other academic events, trade shows, popular music concerts, artistic and cultural performances and family events. The Bryce Jordan Center is the largest arena in the state outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
