David Schreibman The Journey Through My Passion For Photography

In the summer of 8th grade while choosing my electives for my first year of highschool, I knew I wanted to do something different. In the back of my mind I remembered they said I needed to take four semesters of fine arts. Every other student would either take some type of art or an instrument and I didn't want to just fall in line with North Broward's Norm. I saw a class labeled "Intro to Digital Photography". Not knowing it then, I would end up looking forward to that class every day, I stared at it for a while, thought about it, and I picked it. There was still one problem; I needed a camera. I went on amazon and I looked up "intro to photography". A 500 dollar started kit showed up and I was in shock. I had already picked the class and I could bail out now. I went to my dad for help and he said he'll see what he could do. I didn't think about it too much until my birthday rolled around. I was opening the usual envelopes I get from friends and family and and then I saw a box. I smiled and then unwrapped it carefully. It was labeled "Canon Rebel T6". This was the camera I wanted! From that moment I started playing around with it and it sparked my excitement for my freshman year.
Baseball has been a major part of my life since I was three. I grew up with it and ended up falling in love with the game. Through my journey of my first year of capturing life through photography it has became one of my favorite activities to photograph. Some might see the game of baseball as boring, but as a photographer it allows me to capture emotion and exquisite detail.
Coincidentally the first week after buying my first camera, hurricane Irma struck South Florida. This was the first picture I took with my camera. Ever since then, I found that one can always find emotion through the color and textures of certain subjects, especially in nature.
As a student photographer at North Broward Prep my job a lot of the time is to capture student life. When someones says "A picture is worth a thousand words" they mean it.

The North Broward Preparatory School's Community is so diverse and personally, I think that what makes this community so special and exciting to photograph.
