This recipe provides your classic ultra thick, fudgy, chewy, and chocolaty with a perfectly crinkly crust on top ultimate brownie. It’s nice and crispy on the outer edge with gooey pockets of chocolate chunks and a super fudgy center. For me, the best brownie recipe should have the intense flavor contrasting with all the different textures that just blends together in perfect harmony. Scroll to the end for a bonus recipe!
Main Ingredients
Chocolate
The chocolate in this recipe is real chocolate, cocoa powder, AND chocolate chips. So, you know, it tastes kinda like chocolate. 😆
Butter
This recipe uses unsalted butter because you add the salt separately, otherwise the flavor of salt would be too overpowering.
Sugar
This recipe uses only white sugar. It is also known as granulated sugar.
Flour
For this recipe, I used All Purpose Flour. The flour is the structure of these brownies, and it allows them to rise.
Eggs
Eggs are also part of the structure of this recipe. They also help the brownies to be extra fudgy.
Supporting Ingredients
Salt
Salt is just a very important flavor enhancer, that will add to the contrast of the brownies.
Vanilla Extract
Vanilla Extract is also an ingredient that will enhance the flavor and create contrast.
Chocolate Chips
Adding extra chocolate chips at the end is an extra step that gets you those melty pockets of chocolate in your end result.
The Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup semi sweet Chocolate Chips/Chunks
1 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
1 1/4 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Cocoa Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 1/4 cup Flour
1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
2 Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
Instructions:
Melt butter and semi sweet chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave. In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until you develop a thin consistency, usually about 2 minutes.
Sift in the flour and fold it in using a rubber spatula. Pour in your melted chocolate and butter and whisk until combined. Lastly, fold in half a cup of chocolate chips. Grease your pan with butter or use parchment paper. Pour in the batter and sprinkle more chocolate chips over the top. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and bake for 30-40 minutes
Cut, serve, and enjoy!
*Bonus Recipe*
My bonus recipe is a caramel topping that goes with these brownies perfectly.
Ingredients:
1 cup Melted Soft Caramel Candy
1/2 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1 teaspoon Flaky Sea Salt (Optional but highly recommended)
Instructions:
First, combine melted caramel with heavy cream. Then pour on top of the cooled brownies and spread with an offset spatula or back of a spoon. Sprinkle flaky sea salt evenly on top and enjoy!
