TWO POINTS DROPPED LIVERSEDGE 1 - 1 AFC MANSFIELD

Two points dropped instead of a point gained was the verdict at Liversedge on Tuesday. After a lethargic 1st half that did not match the energy levels shown on Saturday we went into the break a goal down. The ball was bundled home by Tom Brook after we had failed to clear a corner a minute from half time.

Ellis Wall replaced the injured Jamie Yates for the 2nd half and we played a little further up the pitch and took the game to the home side.

After missing several chances including a header right in front of goal from Phil Buxton we got back on level terms through Ollie Fearon.

The clubs top goal scorer has had a lean time of it lately but a 25-yard scorcher had the keeper rooted to the spot as it hit the back of the net.

Many more chances were squandered leaving manager Rudy Funk disappointed with the result. “These are the games that win you leagues when you come and take all 3 points by taking your chances. We didn’t do that tonight and that is why we are not challenging for the top this season”.
