What happens after a shock ? How do you recover?
We hear every day acts of violence in newspapers, television, radios... All those facts that happens somewhere in the world of people being injured. But we never hear about how you can recover after a shock. Nobody explains us how we can survive, how we can live after this moment that will change everything. You know after this shock your life won't be the same. But still you are alive.
Exhibition - Breaking Glass
In my performance I'm breaking plates and I'm on a tablecloth. Those to elements are linked to the notion of a house. A home where we live. Plats where we eat. Tablecloths on tables where we seat and eat together. For me it was quite common to sit at the table with my family and speak about our days. But those plates are hanging on this tablecloth. And me, I am living, looking at people, waiting under those plats. They are hanging. There are only a few ropes that prevents them to fall. Life can be as fragile as those ropes. And at some point the plates will fall. You don't know how, when, why. Gravity will just do his job. And the plates will inevitably break into peaces spreading all around the tablecloth.
Finally after the shock, I gather the broken peaces that are spread all around me, distribute some to the public and put them together. Trying to reconstruct myself after this shock, after those plates braking. Trying to make them fit together. Trying to give them a second life. Thanks to clay, the public and I built something new with those plats. You can still see that something happened. But it turned into something beautiful.
