Number one tip... book the English tour of Hungarian Parliament House well in advance. We learnt the hard way... so this meant an early start to purchase from the small number of tickets they hold for the day.
We had prearranged to join a morning walking tour with some good friends (and blog followers) that coincided with us being in the same city on the same day... so we also joined them for breakfast between purchasing afternoon tickets and the 10:30am tour.
We highly recommended joining a walking tour as soon as you hit a new town. It’s got to be the best way to get a solid informative introduction to a new city.
We finished off the day with an evening river cruise to take in the breathtaking sights of both Buda and Pest from the Danube (this resulted in us crashing back to our accommodation after midnight!)
