Nectar Group through its subsidiary Nectar Sierra Leone Bulk Terminal (NSBT) is pleased to announce that it has formed a new long term partnership with the Freetown Cheshire Home in Cline Town, Freetown. During the last 2 months, NSBT has provided funding to refurbish several toilets serving the classrooms at the home. In addition and as part of its commitments to supporting the community next to the port, NSBT has entered into a long term sponsorship of 11 of the residents at the home providing a package of support to cover their accommodation, food, living and education as well as other day to day expenses.

The Freetown Cheshire Home was established in 2nd March, 1962 as a residential and co-educational institution for people living with disabilities. The purpose of the home is to promote the care, general well-being and rehabilitation of people with physical, mental and learning disabilities. Most of these children are orphans who by different means have lost their parents, some displaced, while others have been neglected or abandoned due to poverty and because of their disabilities. The Home is registered with the Freetown City Council (FCC) and the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children Affairs (MSWGCA) as an indigenous Community Based and Voluntary Organisation.
