2021 UNC System QM Council Annual Summit

The UNC System Quality Matters Council invites you to participate in the 2021 UNC System QM Council Annual Summit hosted virtually by North Carolina Central University. The summit takes place on April 20 – 22. Register today for this free, three-day virtual summit. The purpose of this event is to showcase the exceptional work of faculty, staff, and administrators throughout the UNC System in the e-learning space and to provide exemplars to our colleagues within the community.

Book of the Month

If students can think it, they can make it. A diverse set of digital tools can take students from nascent idea to completion — for graphics, videos, podcasts, mobile apps, and more. In Dr. Todd Taylor’s Adobe Creative Cloud across the Curriculum, learn how digital literacy can encourage creative problem solving and promote outstanding academic work in any field.

Creating Assignments for Social Justice

On Tuesday, April 20, 2021, from 10:00 AM – 12 Noon, join this workshop for an overview of how to incorporate high-impact practices (HIPS) into your courses while applying Adobe technical tools.

Intermediate Canvas

On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 3:30 – 4:30 PM, join this session for advanced discussions about tools, design and navigating the Canvas LMS.

Creating Effective Learning Outcomes

On Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, join this session for an interactive dialogue concerning the characteristics and benefits of effective learning outcomes. Concrete steps for designing and revising learning outcomes will be explained. Strategies on how to use learning outcomes to create assignments and drive learning activities will be discussed.

Canvas Crash

On Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, join this session to review the essential elements to get a course up and running.

📢 DLI Lunch & Learn Sessions

The UNC System Lunch & Learns are designed to explore specific digital tools and pedagogical techniques that help faculty to enhance their online teaching. These Friday lunch-hour sessions (12pm – 1pm) are a great way to participate in a learning community with other faculty.

💡Did You Know?

O’Kelly Library Liaisons are available to provide research and instruction support for your courses. By utilizing embedded librarians, you can bring the library into your Canvas course and provide the information sources your students need. Contact the library liaison for your department for assistance.

Collections feature a range of open access content, from educational texts, videos, slides, software, virtual labs, and other digital materials, which vary depending on the subject matter. The collections are curated by faculty teams from across the UNC System to support and enhance both face-to-face and online instruction. Each collection complements a high-demand course commonly offered across most UNC System institutions.
