Cafe Summer project 2020

Remember this space?

As part of the long term goal of remodeling and retrofitting the school, last school year we embarked on transforming the cafeteria into a modern day cafe + flexible learning space.

Selecting colors, finishes, flooring, paint, furnishing, and contractors kept us busy all spring.

Fundraising!

Also, in the spring, we asked for your help by participating in the Blazers & Baubles spring online art auction!

Through your purchases of student artwork and Fund-A-Need donations, we netted $53,000 to purchase all new cafe furniture.

Demo Begins in June

Our team removed ceiling tiles, walls, lighting, and flooring!

Progress

Electrical work, wiring, plumbing, painting, and the installation of lighting, flooring, countertops, and furniture were all part of the next two months of work.

Transformation

In Memorium

Father Ken Westray, a man of generous heart and spirit, who loved nothing more than sharing a meal with friends, died on June 24, 2020. Father Ken served Saint Vincent de Paul school and parish from 2012 - 2020.

The Class of 2020 is the only class that Father Ken was able to welcome as Kindergartners and promote to high school. The Class of 2020 generously donated to the completion of the Cafe in memory of Father Ken.
