“Ring, ring, ring~ Thank you for calling Nehemiah Global Initiative~!”

“Hello! I am calling because my church wants to help NGI with its North Korea ministry.”

In January, we received a call from Gospel City Church. Located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Gospel City Church, with senior pastor Joel Yoon, offers all its worship services in English so many foreigners attend the church with fullness of the Holy Spirit and joy of serving. The church’s For The City Ministry (FTC) visited the NGI Center to discuss its participation in the NGI’s 1:1 English Mentoring ministry.

The NGI’s 1:1 Mentoring Program has currently matched 25 students with mentors but still has 45 more students waiting to meet their mentors. Thanks to God, we now have 7 more mentors from The Gospel City Church to volunteer for the ministry.

Hello my name is Jarid Reiter. Greetings to you all! I am currently working as a teacher for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. I teach Bible and Science and am also the homeroom teacher of our precious 4th Grade Truth (an encouraging name entitled to each class) Class students. Up to this point, I have been living in Korea for about 2 years and 3 months.

For the last two months Nehemiah Global Initiative has given me a volunteer opportunity. I serve a North Korean Refugee by teaching him English on Saturday for a 2-hour session. This service has made me thankful that I can participate hand-in-hand with God. A great appreciate to the staff at NGI for making this time possible.

Grace

Hi, my name is Grace and I just started working with NGI in March. I usually teach 6-7 year olds, but I love working with adults! My church announced that NGI was looking for people who love Jesus and speak English. I love Jesus and speak English and I would love to help North Korean students especially because they have been so brave and overcome so much. I want to help them achieve their dreams, and mostly to share the love of Jesus. I love working with the students at NGI. They are wonderful learners! We study and laugh together. I hope that I can be a blessing to them. They are already a blessing to me!
