Expectations: "As a swimmer, I feel that everyone’s expectation is to improve their times, which is the most important thing," Malocha said. "But as a team, we came in knowing that we have a lot of good swimmers, especially club swimmers. The incoming freshman help to advance the team. I think that all together we are trying to work together and accomplish receiving our league title again."
What She Likes Most About Swimming: “I am able to be with the people that I go to school with," Malocha said. "They are my friends and we have such a strong bond and we are able to work together. Especially during relays, there is such a high team spirit that makes you want to swim faster and represent your school.”
Best Swimming Memory: “Freshman year when I made states and we broke a school record for the 200m Freestyle relay involving Danny Freeman and Emma Wentland,” Malocha said.
Proudest Moment in the Pool: Malocha was able to be a starter as a freshman when PV won its 8th year of leagues, and that was a big deal for her.
Funniest Moment: When she suffered an asthma attack after winning leagues for the first time.
Best Thing About PV: “The people and [the feeling] that everyone is supporting you," Malocha said. "I feel like there is a lot of school spirit and everyone is proud to be an Indian and I feel like that is something that is really important in a school. This makes me proud of who I am and [makes me] work harder as a person.
