"I am happy to be a part of such a welcoming, friendly, and supportive community as a Redbird. My various communities that have formed through my jobs, student organizations, and residence hall experiences have become families for me here at ISU!"
"Being a student at ISU has impacted me in incredible ways! I have not only grown as a person through the opportunities I have had, but I have made amazing friends and connections that will last a lifetime."
"I have also had the opportunity to be a part of a registered student organization on campus called College Mentors for Kids where we mentor students from elementary schools in the area. This year, I am one of the Vice Presidents of Programming for the organization, and I have learned so much through this program. The involvement with College Mentors for Kids has prepared me well for my future career as a teacher."
"One thing that surprised me about ISU is the incredible support of the faculty here on campus. The faculty who work with me at my jobs, my teachers from my general education courses, and the instructors in my department always offer support and encouragement to me throughout my academic and personal journey at ISU."
"Being an elementary education major, I have had opportunities to help and teach at many of the local schools around ISU. Working in so many different schools has allowed me to see a wide range of teaching strategies and interact with a variety of students!"
"I was awarded an academic scholarship through the Office of Admissions as well as a scholarship for when I studied abroad through the Office of International Studies and Programs. Both of these scholarships have helped me in making my aspirations at Illinois State come to life and become a reality for me."
