Figure Hype Year 8 Virtual Exhibition

8A - 8L - 8P

A contemporary art exhibition showcasing Year 8 students interpretations in the style of renowned British artist and sculptor, Antony Gormley.

This two part exhibition presents a series of human figures that represent the students vibrant personalities, and introducing Graphic Design through the creation of visual posters.

PROJECT BRIEF | PART ONE

Designing a figure representing own personality and hobby/interest, incorporating knowledge of proportions and movement, using Antony Gormley as a visual reference.

Student example of initial sketch combining their personality and their favourite activity. In this example we can see this student has represented her artistic personality within a figure that is watching tv or reading as a personal response to Antony Gormley's figure sculptures.

PROJECT BRIEF | PART TWO

Incorporating the tin foil figures to graphically design a poster to the Year 8 'FIGURE HYPE' exhibition (inspired by Graphic Designer and Photographer, Harry Pearce).

The poster was required to include: (1) typographic hierarchy, (2) show the effect of wrapping text around artwork.
