Transgender and Gender Policy Draft
- Draft Policy 8005 - Transgender and Gender Diverse Students.
- A draft of Policy 8005 was introduced at the November 17th Red Clay School Board meeting. Use the link below to access this draft of the policy. To provide feedback on the policy:

- Voice your feedback at the December 1 Board Policy Review Committee Meeting @ 5:00 in the District Office Board Room
- Submit feedback for the public comment portion of the December 15 school board meeting
Project Thrive: Mental Health Services
- Project THRIVE (provider list attached) provides free mental health services to eligible Delaware students. Services are available to students – grades pre-k through 12 – attending Delaware public schools, private schools, parochial schools and homeschools.
- Project THRIVE services help students who are struggling with traumatic situations, such as physical or emotional abuse, community violence, racism, bullying, and more. Trauma can harm mental and physical health, and limit school success. The Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) developed Project THRIVE to help children receive trauma-informed support from their schools, communities and caregivers.

- Attend school regularly
- Better control emotions and behaviors
- Develop coping skills for managing stress at home and school
- Our Virtual School Choice Night is scheduled for December 1, 2021. More information forthcoming for incoming 9th grade students.

- Current 8th Grade Students please read the attached Choice Admission Process to Cab Calloway School of the Arts for High School.
- A formal letter will be sent to 8th Grade Parents regarding the update.
Excellence of Teaching Award (Last Announcement)
- Franklin Mint is looking to honor 20 Outstanding Educators in the state of Delaware.
- Recipient receives $1000 dollars for school related programs and resources.
- Deadline is December 17, 2021.
Friendly Student and Community Reminders:
- All community members (students and staff) must complete a daily health self screener before entering the school building and follow the Covid-19 Protocols.
- Upon arrival, students are still required to report to the cafeteria if they are in Middle School, the gym if they are a Freshmen or Sophomore, and the auditorium if they are Juniors or Seniors.
- Students must have a pass from teachers when going to an assigned area in the building.
- We are expecting students to arrive in time to their classes, activities, and advisory period. Upon sweep of the hallway, students found out of an assigned area will be issued a discipline referral. Progressive discipline will ensue.
- Vending Machines are available in the morning, during lunch, or after school. Not during class or activities.
- Senior Privilege: Seniors are still required to sign out in the front office.
- Activities will start on December 7, 2021.
- Cab and Charter Administration met with New Castle County and Wilmington Police regarding arrival drop offs and parking.
- Law Enforcement has issued a warning to our community that parents or car riders using residential or business parking lots for drop offs will be issued tickets.
- Safety First: We are reinforcing and encouraging drivers to discontinue making U- Turns in the middle of two way traffic. Thank you all for your cooperation.
Delaware All State Senior Chorus
- We celebrate our Seniors who were selected to being selected to All State Senior Chorus.
- 19 of the vocal majors were accepted into the two choirs (Mixed and Treble).
- 7 of our students placed first chair in their sections and 2 placed second chair!
Fall Sports: Winning Season
- We recognize all of our Cab student-athletes who participated in Fall Sports.
- Every team represented Cab and Charter well this fall season and deserve to be recognize for their
Caesar Rodney Rotary Thanksgiving Basket Brigade:
- The above photo are items from donations for various schools including items collected during the NHS sponsored food sorting/organizing the food drive.
- We thank NHS students for their leadership and the Cab Community for the support in helping families in Wilmington have food during the holiday.
- Shout out to Mrs. Szcurowski and Mrs. Pruitt for their support with establishing this community outreach opportunity.
