Hybrid Learning FAQ

We are beginning to get several questions regarding Hybrid learning. We have started a Hybrid Learning FAQ document where we will share some of the most asked questions to help everyone get a better understand of what to expect with Hybrid Learning. As you have questions, please reach out! This is new for all of us and we will continue to work to create the best experience possible for our students!

We wanted to give anyone who has not completed the survey to tell us if your student is returning for Hybrid instruction beginning on April 19th or if they will remain in CDL one more opportunity to do so. For students who do not complete the survey, we will assume you want to remain in CDL and that will be your placement for the 4th quarter. The last day to complete the survey is Friday, March 19th.

Trap Shooting Team Info

Registration is open for the 2021 spring trapshooting season. Deadline to Register is March 28th, the season runs through April and May. Resource Room

Any students who need school supplies, personal hygiene products, clothes, or food, please reach out to nhsresourceroom@gmail.com to contact Resource Room volunteers so that we are able to help fulfill whatever needs our students may have.

This year, we are unable to collect general clothing donations, however, as the weather turns cold we would gratefully accept gently used hoodies, jackets, hats and gloves. Our greatest need for hygiene & household items currently are: shampoo, deodorant, body soap, dish soap. Donations can be dropped off at the NHS Main Office on Mondays-Friday between 8am-4pm or you can choose something from our Amazon wish list & have it delivered directly to NHS! If you would like to make a financial donation, that can be done through the NHS Bookkeeping office.

Here is the NHS Resource Room Amazon wish list if you would like to make donations or purchase supplies that can be available to stundents.

As we approach the reopening of schools we will be looking for a few parents who may be interested in volunteering in our NHS Resource Room for one hour/week. The requirements are minimal and our experience has been that the rewards are beyond measure. All that's required is a background check through the school district to obtain a volunteer ID and a willingness to be present with an open heart to support students who are having a difficult time getting basic needs items. Our Resource Room is dependent on parent & community member volunteers who go through donations to get them on the shelves for NHS kids and assist kids when they need help finding items they are needing. We aren't certain as yet what our open hours will look like until we get a bit closer to reopening.

Our top priority in the room is the positive way we can make kids feel by providing support with no forms to fill out, no judgement, just support. We need a volunteer that is passionate about assuming the best of kids and wants to make them feel valued, trusted and respected. Our role as the adult during volunteer hours is making sure we keep the room feeling safe, welcoming & comfortable for any student coming in for basic need items. A good balance of love & boundaries is all that's needed to be a successful volunteer.

If you think you may be a good fit and would like to know more, let us know by emailing or text. You can also find us on Facebook & Instagram! Thank you for considering and a huge thank you to all those who have donated to help make this all possible!

SAFE Oregon Tip Line

Many districts across the State have adopted SAFE Oregon as their primary tip line. This summer, the Newberg School District has made it the primary source for reporting any issues that need the attention of the school. Tips can be sent by phone, text, via the web or through an app. At the high school, students have received this information in their class assemblies and school-wide safety videos. Encourage your student to download the app and/or put the number into their phone. If you would like more information regarding the tip line, please visit SAFEOregon.com.
