LACROSSE LAST WEEK
VICTORY! The lacrosse team posted a huge 20-4 win over Eastern Connecticut State last week behind three goals and a game-high five assists from senior attack Deyscha Smith! In total, six different players put points on the board for the Lyons, who finished the week with a 1-1 mark after shouldering a tough loss to MIT in their NEWMAC home opener on Saturday.
TENNIS LAST WEEK
VICTORY! The Lyons kicked off their NEWMAC home slate on Saturday with a 6-3 victory over Emerson College. Rookie Annissa Aamoum (pictured left) went 2-0 on the day, earning victory at third singles and at first doubles. Juniors Ching-Ching Huang and Catherine Peabody were also a combined 2-0 on the day.
RIDING last week
VICTORY!! The Lyons were once again crowned the IHSA Zone 1, Region III Champions last weekend, finishing the regular season with 371 points. MHC also saw six individuals qualify to compete at the Zone 1 Championships to be held on Saturday at the MHC Equestrian Center. As the top team in the region, the Lyons will also send eight team riders to compete at Zones.
TRACK AND FIELD LAST WEEK
19 PERSONAL RECORDS! Following an effort that saw 17 personal bests met, the Lyons topped it once again, this time at the Tufts Snowflake Classic. MHC saw 19 personal records last Saturday as they finished 12th overall in Medford. Pacing the effort was junior Charleen Theroux, who not only finished second with a personal-best distance of 5.35 meters, but also earned a New England DIII Qualifying mark in the process.
