A weekly podcast

This one hour podcast will engage some of the most high-profile and low-profile black intellectuals in America in a discussion on what's happening in America today that affects black communities, the culture and and the creative classes from art to tech.

FORMAT

Part I -- "The Kick Back" -- is where we give background on the topic, providing history and facts, as well as a full picture of the topic at hand.

Part II -- "The Turn Up" -- is where we get into the discussion with interviews from the subjects of the discussion and/or subject matter experts.

The surge of black women as a voting block and the rise of black women candidates -- and winning. Is this a thing?

Millennials in Tech for Social Good

There are many tech stars on the scene, but are technologists from marginalized communities getting their say, and their pay?

How have social media influencers impacted our conversations on race and culture and who are the driving forces in this conversation. What has been the real impact?

Because of the ubiquity of cell phone cameras, citizens get "caught-on-tape" calling the police on black people. How can we parlay this social media social justice into policy and action?

What is it? Is it appropriation, assimilation, association, or amalgamation? Should the melding of cultures simply be accepted? Or does ownership matter?

#MeToo

In the era of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, are women really more empowered today to talk about sexual assault than yesterday? Are black women and girls as empowered during this movement as celebrities and their white counterparts?
