WHAT IS SEEFOOD?

SeeFood is a weekly meal kit that will serve the visually impaired and the blind, giving them the benefit of being able to cook something without being able to see.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to give individuals with visual impairments the confidence and clarity they need to make delicious meals with ease. This solves the problem of wanting to cook when one does not know where or how to start.

what we value

Seefood weekly meal kits will provide only the freshest and highest quality ingredients. We want our users to feel confident that they are receiving fresh, edible ingredients, since some might not be able to physically see the food and check it for imperfections due to a visual impairment.

It is a major goal of ours to make sure our users feel enjoyment and ease of mind while cooking. For this reason, we designed the SeeFood experience to be accessible to all.

KEY FINDINGS

Judy Rothchild, a person with 0% vision, uses audio and texture to do tasks. For example, she can tell that she found sour cream in the fridge by the feel of the container.

Jessica Snyder, a teacher who works with visually impaired students, says the thing her students use the most is large type and screen readers.
