Dear University community,

  • It’s Welcome Week 2021 and while it’s admittedly not being observed as it has in the past, I hope that you truly feel the warmth of our welcome to Texas A&M International University.
  • Our Campus Activities Board (CAB) and the TAMIU Office of Student Orientation, Leadership and Engagement (SOLE) have carefully crafted a series of offerings with all precautions that now ground our lives.
  • Among the activities scheduled Feb. 8 - 12: Tie-dyeing of shirts, a Lip-Sync Battle, TAMIU Trivia games, a chance to get engaged in campus life at the Getting Involved Fair… or the secrets of how you can enjoy a recipe on a budget. For more, see the event flyer below or reach out to the SOLE office at 956.326.2280.
  • This is also Consent Week, a chance for the University community to affirm the guiding principle of consent through awareness. Hosted by our Equal Opportunity and Diversity Office (Title IX) and partners like Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority Inc., there’s a full range of virtual and real-time activities available.
  • In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, you can design a Consent Valentine, learn about Self-Love and Well-Being, and get a virtual overview of the Green Dot bystander intervention training and more. For more information, call 956.326.2858. #DustdevilsAskFirst
  • Your welcome to TAMIU also makes you a part of the broader spectrum of our 11-campuses of The Texas A&M University System. You can find out more with our Chancellor John Sharp, who has created a new TV show, "Around Texas," that explores our System’s impact.

Welcome to TAMIU. Welcome home!

TAMIU E-Learning Team Celebrates 200 Quality Matters Certified Courses

“Faculty members participate in professional development workshops on how to apply the QM rubric into their courses. The QM rubric consists of 43 standards of quality based on research and best practices in online learning that work in alignment to provide the best educational experience to our students. Faculty work together with an instructional designer on the development of the course. Once the course is designed, it undergoes an internal review process before it is sent to QM for certification.”
