New Uniform Policy

STP Name Change

As you may know, Wayside: Sci-Tech will be splitting onto two campuses in the upcoming school year. Middle school (grades 6-8) will stay at the current 6405 S IH-35 campus. High school (grades 9-12) will move to the new Bradshaw Campus.

To ease confusion, Wayside has officially changed the school's name with TEA. The name is now Wayside: Sci-Tech Middle School and High School. We will no longer use the word "preparatory."

Though Sci-Tech will remain one school officially, you'll hear us refer to it in the future as "Wayside: Sci-Tech Middle" and "Wayside: Sci-Tech High." You also may see it abbreviated as STMS and STHS. Both schools will retain the Raven as their mascot.

Enrollment Day

Each year, Wayside hosts two network-wide enrollment days for new scholars. This year's were held April 14 and May 5. This is a joint effort between the network, campus administration, and our PTA/PTOs who join forces to get scholars enrolled quickly and efficiently. This year, we enrolled over 100 new scholars, and have many others who will be enrolling directly with their campus. Thank you to everyone who helped. We can't wait to get to know these scholars in the upcoming year!

The Extraordinary Story

This year's The Extraordinary Story gala was held at Chateau Bellevue on April 26, and featured a silent auction, scholar testimonials and generous donations! Thank you to this year's attendees and sponsors for raising money for our scholars!

Bradshaw Construction Update

From the outside, you'd think the new Bradshaw Campus is complete! We are currently working to finish the interior, including paint, lighting and equipment. The project is on-track, and we look forward to starting the 2018-2019 school year at the new site on July 25.

Advocacy Update

Superintendent Matt Abbott met with Representative Donna Howard and her legislative director Jacob Cottingham on April 20 to discuss funding for charter schools like Wayside.

Congratulations Seniors!

AMA Adopts Grandparents

During the month of April, each AMA class adopted a grandparent from Elmcroft of Austin. Scholars sent their grandparents notes, postcards and art projects throughout the month. On April 27, scholars had the opportunity to meet the grandparents when they visited campus.

Rep. Howard Reads to Scholars

State Representative Donna Howard read Green Eggs and Ham to AMA scholars to celebrate Reading Across America Week, held each year to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday and childhood literacy.

10th Graders Showcase Personal Projects

On April 24, STP hosted the 10th-grade MYP personal project showcase. This is the capstone project of the MYP program, and our scholars spent the better part of the school year researching and preparing. They chose topics personal to them, and worked to relate them into a global context. Projects this year included an inclusive soccer program, music production, school mentorship program, and much more!

Middle School Basketball

Middle School basketball had a huge year. Our boys won the state championship, while our girls finished second. Amazing job, Ravens.
