Conferring of Degrees LVC Celebration of the Class of 2020

By virtue of the authority vested by the charter of Lebanon Valley College and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, President Thayne confers degrees on graduates with all the rights, honors, and privileges thereunto appertaining in the token in which they receive their diploma.

GRADUATION HONORS

A degree is conferred cum laude if the student’s cumulative grade-point average is 3.40 to 3.59, magna cum laude if the average is 3.60 to 3.74, and summa cum laude if the average is 3.75 to 4.00. In addition, the student must have been in residence for at least four semesters. Honors listed in this video for May graduates are anticipated graduation honors and do not include grades from the final semester. Definitive honors will appear on graduates’ diplomas and transcripts.

As a symbol of receiving their degree, President Thayne asks our newest graduates to move their tassels from the right side of their cap to their left side.

President Lewis E. Thayne, Ph.D.
